and wanted to change things up a bit.
The writing process and giving every episode enough volume in story progression
(without it getting too big for a weekly update) is one of the most challenging parts.
And I had to grudgingly admit this often takes up too much time.

Cutting out the story progress bit so that every episode is more self-containing seemed
like a solution. Easier to make shorter episodes with the added bonus of more variation.

Instead of pondering this question for too long and delaying everything
(too much) I just started on a self-contained quirky episode.
